Open Call: DOR – Israel's First Accelerator for Immigrant Artists

A Meeting Point of Cultures, Languages, and Identities

DOR by ANU is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Culture and ANU – Museum of the Jewish People, specifically created to support Russian-speaking immigrant ("olim") artists seeking a platform for personal expression and professional integration.
DOR is a gateway to a new cultural dimension – a space for individuals who live and create at the intersection of languages, cultures, and experiences. These are artists working in various fields of the creative industry: visual arts, audio arts, performance, digital formats, and more. It's more than a program; it's an incubator - and a stage - where art itself becomes a language of dialogue.
In recent years, following the war between Russia and Ukraine, hundreds of world-class Russian-speaking artists have arrived in Israel.
This incubator aims to provide tools, connections, and opportunities for integration into Israeli culture – while developing original projects and fostering a deep familiarity with the local scene. The goal is to enable professional absorption and prevent the loss of creative and human potential. The initiative is committed to serving as a bridge between new artists and cultural institutions, audiences, professional partners, and veteran artists in Israel.

The Artists

  • They belong to a generation with more than one home.
  • Their roots speak various languages.
  • They are not beginners – they bring experience, professional background, and a hunger to create the next big thing.
  • They are creators who live between worlds, building bridges between contexts, cities, and cultural codes.
  • They don't ask, "How do I integrate?" – they bring their unique voice and put it on stage.

  • We express a shared experience.
  • We unite generations and connections, transforming the personal into the collective.
  • We build bridges between "where I come from" and "who shall I become."

Our Goals

  • Create a vibrant meeting point between new and veteran artists, driven by mutual curiosity and professional openness.
  • Open the doors of cultural institutions to new voices and fresh connections.
  • Expand Israel's cultural narrative and strengthen the voice of immigrant artists within it.
  • Deepen familiarity with Israeli culture and encourage personal and professional connection to Jewish identity through creation and activity.
  • Prevent vibrant and relevant art from remaining marginalized due to lack of access or connections.
