Hafrashat Challah – Group Exhibition

Till Dec. 26

As part of the Challah Festival, the museum is hosting a group exhibition featuring dozens of artists: “Hafrashat Challah”.

“Hafrashat Challah – an ancient commandment with its roots in the Torah – is more than a technical act of removing a piece from the dough before baking. It represents our intimate connection to the earth, to the wheat, and to our daily bread. It symbolizes abundance and blessing, and weekly renewal. Furthermore, it serves as a focus for family gathering, for singing and blessing, as Jewish women throughout the generations have passed this tradition down, imbuing it with new meaning in every era,” says the exhibition curator, Dr. Guy Morag Tzephalovitch.

The exhibition features dozens of artworks, as well as a large-scale Shabbat table installation by the multidisciplinary artist Ilan Peled. The exhibition aims to expose the public to a fascinating dimension of Jewish tradition and to encourage in-depth dialogue about identity, culture, and heritage.

Participating Artists include: Naomi Avilioitz, Vered Aharonovitch, Eden Ohana, Matan Elyakim, Kochavit Ben Ezra, Lilach Bar Ami, Shmuel Goldstein, Kobi Golan, Dana Gor Keren, Arik Weiss, Sagit Zluf Namir, Aya Talshir, Keren Ifrah, Sharon Leshem Morad, Debbie Morag, Ilan Peled, Nastya Faibish, Galia Hilly Pasternak, Rani Pardes, Liora Shirer Saad, Sivan Sternbach, Keren Shpilshher, and others.

A ticket to the exhibition includes entry to all museum exhibitions.

Please note: The exhibition will be open to the general public without the need for prior coordination on Saturdays. On weekdays, please check the museum’s website weekly for updated exhibition hours, or inquire via WhatsApp at 03-5008080.
