Loli Kantor: Photography, Identity, and Memory

Friday, 31.10.25 at 11:00

For Loli Kantor, photography is not just a way of life – it is life itself. For about a decade, she has delved into family photographs and objects to reconstruct family history and create memories, most of them imagined. The book Call Me Lola, which compiles the results of this exploration, is a document that summarizes her work, curated by Dr. Nissan Perez.

At this event, Loli Kantor will present some of her works and discuss aspects of her art with curator Dr. Nissan Perez.

Loli Kantor, whose works are currently featured in the museum’s exhibit “A Lens of Her Own 20&20,” is a French-born Israeli-American photographer who explores Jewish identity and history. Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions and is held in prestigious collections, including at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the Galicia Jewish Museum. Her photographs blend a personal narrative with broader cultural contexts.

The ticket includes independent tour at the “A Lens of Her Own” exhibit before and after the event.
