A Journey Through Broken Words, Sacred and Secular
Leonard Cohen is a master of words, he works them with biblical imagery and the Jewish liturgy he absorbed at home. Many of Cohen’s songs are personal prayers that relate to the Jewish sources.
In a special evening marking his 91st birthday, international pianist Guy Mintus will perform Leonard Cohen’s songs in versions you have not yet heard, and actor Alon Friedman will take us through more than sixty years of his work.
The show will feature songs from all periods of Leonard Cohen’s career, combined with the stories behind the songs and his life philosophy. Art works created especially for this evening will be screened.
Show Creators: Ola Preminger and Yuli Shapira
Presenter: Alon Friedman
