Let us browse through workshops, bedrooms, and museums to understand the various roles of women in the history of art: an object, an assistant, and artist. The one standing behind him, lying on his sofa, then disappearing into the shadows. Sometimes she takes the artist’s brush into her own hands and steps into the foreground, only to disappear again quite soon.
We’ll talk about women whose lives were intertwined with art. The one who rejected a painter, the one who became his only muse, and the one who devoted herself her man’s virtuosity – neglecting her own. And also, the one who created on her own – against all odds and without asking for permision.
After the lecture, a guided tour at the museum will be held in Russian, including a visit to the “20&20: A Lens of Her Own” exhibition.
