“Alpha Centauri”: A Play by Alexander Plotnikov

“Alpha Centauri” is a play about the losers and underdogs whose stories are cast into shadow by history. Those who dropped out of the race, became background noise to the victories of others, lost in time. Is there a place for them in the present? How does eternal victory – of war, of space exploration – shape our consciousness?

Alexander Plotnikov’s play doesn’t offer answers, but rather invites us to view defeat as another way to think about time. It’s a sensitive dialogue, restoring forgotten names in poetic language.
