The “Sea of Halacha” Map – a map of the Jewish Oral Law, edited by Abba Kovner (Hebrew only). Designer: Tehila Har Gil
The map shows the major Torah academies in Israel and the diaspora. All streams are flown into one river, symbolizing the oral law, which pours into two main channels – the Israeli and the Babylonian. Each splitting, curve, and creek, as well as the proportions between the flows, represent the historical context and the development in various periods and places. Inside the sea of Halacha, the "Shulchan Aruch" stands up as a milestone. The creeks represent the sages, and the lakes – the main centers of Jewish thought and halachic literature. Designer: Tehila Har Gil
