This exhibition is an inspiring discussion of Jewish identity, from the ethnic, religious and cultural aspects. Bokobza's interpretation of the holiday focuses on migration, immigration, and the possibilities of transition and resettlement identified over the generations with the Jewish people. Yet Bokobza goes beyond familiar depictions of immigration: he features a future migration from planet Earth to colonies in outer space. The children of Israel, formerly foreigners in Egypt, have become settlers who conquest new lands. The earth is made of frightened eyes. At the front, the eyes of young "Eliahu" are peeping underneath sea waves representing, perhaps, the sea of chaos deep under the earth.
